King Philip's War (1675-76) was a complex war with long lasting consequences for both the Native Americans and the colonists of New England. It is difficult to wrap one's head around all the issues and people involved - even the dates for the War require explanation. (The colonists of Plymouth, Massachusetts Bay and Connecticut Colonies considered the War over when Philip was killed in August of 1676 but there continued to be outbreaks of violence in northern New England for two years after that.)
